Ovarian cancer is one of the most common and deadly cancers affecting women, but early detection can make all the difference. September is dedicated to raising awareness about ovarian cancer, supporting those impacted, and educating the public about the importance of early detection and prevention.
What is Ovarian Cancer?
Ovarian cancer begins in the ovaries, the female reproductive organs that produce eggs. It often goes undetected until it has spread, which is why it is known as a “silent” disease. Symptoms can be vague, including bloating, pelvic pain, frequent urination, and feeling full quickly while eating.
The Importance of Early Detection:
While ovarian cancer can be difficult to detect, regular checkups, awareness of the symptoms, and knowing your family history are key. The earlier it is found, the better the chances of successful treatment. If you notice any persistent symptoms, talk to your healthcare provider.
